HOW I CAPTURE YOUR DAY
THE WEDDING DAY
WHAT I DO DURING THE DIFFERENT ELEMENTS OF YOUR DAY
I arrive at a pre agreed time around your schedule as I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable.
I then introduce myself before I gently blend into the background and start to capture those all important elements of bridal prep including those finishing touches.
I love working with natural light especially during this time and so anywhere near a window helps to give that perfect image.
Don't worry Grooms, where possible I love to also capture you and you're Groomsmen putting the final touches to your outfits. If you're at the same venue as the bridal prep or close by this can be incorporated.
It is that all important arrival of the bride and the walk down the aisle.
I record your ceremony in full and from multiple camera angles and using discreet microphones I capture all those sentimental readings and any live music that you might. We speak beforehand to make sure that I have enough microphones on everyone who speaks during your ceremony and I will traditionally only mic up the groom. This groom mic also acts as the microphone for the bride so don't worry brides no mics on your dress.
Once the ceremony is finished, I then get that all-important confetti throw and head out with you for couple portraits if you are having them at this point.
WEDDING BREAKFAST & SPEECHES
Introducing the new...Mr & Mrs. This is the part where you gets a few claps, whoops and cheers.
Your big entrance into the wedding breakfast is filmed as you are welcomed by friends and family, it’s time to sit down and relax at this point and most likely have a glass of something.
If you have entertainment planned for this part of the day don't worry, I will be ready to capture those moments.
At this point I tend to the give you some time to just enjoy yourself. I get set up and ready for the speeches which I will film from multiple angles. Once again I use the small discreet microphones to gather clean, crisp audio for all those making speeches.
The evening reception brings new people to the wedding and shortly after it will be time to cut the cake and take part in the traditional first dances if you’re doing these. I film your first dance in full and from multiple angles. I also film father of the bride dances if you have this.
Once the formal dances are over you and your guests are well and truly ready to party, and so as the lights go down the energy goes up.
I tend to try to stay for around an hour after your first dance to capture all those dance floor moves no matter how good or bad they are. I find this is enough time for your guest to enjoy themselves without me encroaching too much on the wedding evening. One the day is over I will say goodbye and then I will head home and back everything up before I go to bed.
